GenderMedia Foundation

GenderMedia Foundation (GMF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to media issues related to gender.

Founded in 2003 and incorporated in 2004, GMF is best known for the groundbreaking VDay LA 2004 event, the first all-transgender benefit performance of The Vagina Monologues.

GenderMedia has provided financial and media support for nonprofits including VDay, Peace Over Violence, The Task Force, TransYouth Family Allies, and Outfest.

GMF has also presented at the 2008 National Women’s Studies Association conference, documented protests at the 2009 American Psychiatric Association conference, and appeared on college campuses around the United States.
